Jabberwocky 2006 Online

Hey Everyone,Good news, Jabberwocky 2006 is finally online! You can check it out by clicking HERE. However, you need Adobe Acrobat, so make sure to go to the Adobe site and get that first if you don't already have it. Now you can send Jabberwocky to family and friends in foreign countries without all the shipping costs.

In other news, our meetings are really heating up. There are a lot of new faces and a nice mix of old faces too. You should really check-out a meeting, at least one, I promise it will be fun. We will probably have pizza at least once a month now too, so that is another incentive. Our meetings are still 7PM in Bartlett 262 every Thursday. If we move rooms due to exceeding size capacity, we will have a sign on the door that says meet us in the Conference room or meet us in room 212.

I'm sorry for the delay in updates, but I plan on having some little almost diary entries from members detailing what a meeting is like to them, how English Society has changed their lives, or something fun like that. Stay tuned for pictures from the reading last spring, I swear they will be up by the end of October. Also check our Facebook group UMass English Society for more information and another way to get involved.

Take Care,
Adam Zinkievich

Why I Have a Blog

Hello Eager Literary Students, this is UMass English Society. You may be wondering why I have a blog if I already have a UMass website. The answer is simple, my website is not easy to update. To make things faster and to get events, times, hours, rooms, and more updated at a more constant rate, I have opted for a blog. Now please don't think I've sold out, I'm still the same old room in Bartlett that I always was. I just wanted to make sure you got up-to-date information to give you all a good idea of what I am currently up to. Expect things like names of those who have had submissions approved, links to things like an electronic version of the wonderful Jabberwocky 2006, and maybe even a couple pictures of members in the Fall. I hope to see you again, whether it is just you reading about me, or actually visiting me in person someday. Goodbye for now from the English Society; Bartlett Hall; UMass; Amherst; Hampshire County; Massachusetts; United States of America; Continent of North America; Western Hemisphere; the Earth; the Solar System; the Universe; the Mind of God.
